Women's Health

Women undergo many changes in their bodies through their lifespan. Often, they have legitimate concerns such as urine leakage, pregnancy-related pain, pelvic pain, or pain during sexual intercourse, but they do not know where to seek help.

What We Do

Pregnancy Physiotherapy 

to manage any physical pain during pregnancy, usually in the pelvis, tailbone, and lower back.

Post-pregnancy Physiotherapy

to facilitate full recovery of physical health and function, and to address any issues that commonly arise after childbirth (Diastasis Recti, urine leakage, pelvic and low back pain, Mastitis - blocked duct, C-section scarring).

Pelvic Health Physiotherapy

to manage and facilitate recovery for issues in the pelvic region, including urine leakage, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, and persistent pain during sexual intercourse.

What Can You Expect?

A comprehensive assessment will be conducted.

  • Detailed history taking of your symptoms and condition.

  • Thorough examination of your posture, movement, strength, mobility, and function.

  • If there are any pelvic floor concerns, an external and internal vaginal examination may be conducted.

​

Upon completion of the above assessment, there will be a detailed explanation of your condition and possible prognosis. An outline of your treatment plan will also be discussed with you.

Finally, the physiotherapy treatment will be administered.

This will include therapeutic exercises and one or more of the following:

  • Postural and movement correction

  • Breathing re-training

  • Manual therapy such as joint, myofascial, and scar tissue mobilisation

  • Electrical Physical Agents such as ultrasound therapy, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, and radial shockwave therapy.

  • Dry needling

  • Taping

You will be given an individualised home exercise program to enhance the recovery or to manage your condition.
